What should I expect from my first Acupuncture session?
The needles used for Acupuncture are hair thin, sterile, single use disposable needles. Sensation is minimal, although a mild stinging sensation may be experienced on some occasions. Generally the whole treatment is a relaxing and restful experience. There is a small risk of bruising on removal of the needles.
What is Electro- Acupuncture?
Acupuncture needles are inserted and small clips are placed on the needles. An Electro-Acupuncture machine is turned on and a micro-current stimulates the acupuncture point. This reduces inflammation, releases endorphins and eases pain. This is similar to a TENS machine.

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture
FAQ'S Facial Ehancement Acupuncture (FEA):
What results can I expect?
The first thing a client will notice after the initial treatment is an improvement in the tone and texture of the skin. The Qi energy that is generated in the face during a treatment will show itself very early; and after a few days the patient should have a radiant glow that is evident to people around them.
Working with the facial muscles, and the contours of the face, to achieve a structural change can take a little longer. However, after only two or three treatments, the patient will notice a dramatic reduction in fine lines and any puffiness that may be apparent on the face.
For longer term changes to the patient's appearance, it is necessary to conduct a course of 12 treatments on a regular weekly basis. The client notices dramatic results as the muscles in the face tighten, and lines and wrinkles start to fade.
Do I need repeat treatments?
After a course of 12 treatments, a top-up procedure once every 4-6 weeks is recommended.
Can you treat me if I’ve had botox or fillers?
Whilst it would be possible to work on areas that have not been injected, I generally prefer to wait for a minimum of 3 months after these treatments before starting Facial Acupuncture treatments.
What do I need to do to prepare for a session?
It is helpful to eat a light meal shortly before your Acupuncture session and to wear comfortable loose fitting clothing.
Whilst I will cleanse your skin thoroughly before the treatment, it is helpful if you avoid wearing make up to the session.
It is best to avoid booking a treatment for the day of a big event, as I advise staying make up free for the rest of the day post-treatment.
Unfortunately people experiencing any of the following conditions are not able to have FEA:
Epilepsy; seizures; diabetes; hepatitis; those fitted with a pacemaker; uncontrolled high blood pressure, coronary disease; those actively trying for a baby, pregnant or breastfeeding.
